If you are using any commercial toothpaste, you’re probably brushing your teeth with toxic waste – poisoning yourself, poisoning the environment, and telling that corporation from whom you bought the paste that you support them putting poisons in their toothpaste and selling it to you as if it’s safe to use.
In a world where corporations control the government, the power to control the corporations is in the hands of the people. Corporations we buy from thrive and expand, and corporations we don’t buy from dry up and disappear.
Changing the world is completely up to us and is also very simple. The ball is in your court.
Let’s take a look at one of the most popular toothpastes on the market. One of my roommates uses it, and I’m sure many other people do as well. This post goes out to them, and to anybody else who never questioned whether their toothpaste was safe to use.
Toxic chemicals found in most toothpastes: Sodium fluoride, titanium dioxide, sodium hydroxide, mica, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), blue 1 aluminium lake, sodium saccharin, polyethylene, hydrated silica, sorbitol, xanthan gum, cellulose gum (chemically-treated), carbomer.
3 Toothpastes that Aren’t Poison
Now that we’ve seen what doesn’t work in our lives, let’s take a look at what we can use instead to create a healthier smile and a world of healthier people.
Beware, not all toothpastes you find in ‘natural’ or ‘organic’ sections in the grocery store are healthy.
Many companies provide fluoride-free toothpaste, which is great, but then if you read the rest of the ingredients you’ll find all sorts of other poisons that you don’t want to be using. We must be vigilant and research every ingredient within.
I was originally only going to showcase one healthy toothpaste, but thanks to my fantastic friends on Facebook I now have three great products for you.
1. Earthpaste
Ingredients:
Purified Water, Redmond Clay, Xylitol, Essential Oil (Cinnamon, Wintergreen or Peppermint), Real Salt, Tea Tree Essential Oil, Menthol (Only in the Wintergreen & Peppermint varieties).
Update: I’ve been warned that Earthpaste now comes with a warning stating that pregnant women and children should not use it because of lead contamination. Apparently, it occurs naturally in the clay they use for their formula.
So, it’s probably for the best to skip this one until it’s safe once again.

2. Desert Essence
Ingredients (for the Natural Tea Tree Oil Toothpaste):
Calcium carbonate, Glycerin (vegetable derived), water (aqua), Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) leaf distillate, Sodium coco-sulfate, carrageenan (plant derived), Mentha piperita (peppermint) oil, Sodium bicarbonate, Eco-Harvest Melaleuca Alternifolia (tea tree) leaf oil, sea salt.
Fluoride free, SLS free, gluten free. It does not contain harsh abrasives, sweeteners or artificial flavors. 100% vegan, not tested on animals.

3. Uncle Harry’s Toothpaste
Ingredients:
Calcium carbonate, sea salt, mustard seed powder, spearmint, eucalyptus, clove, oregano, peppermint, and wintergreen essential oils, bentonite clay, ionic minerals, and colloidal silver water.

4. Do it yourself
Possibly better than any commercial toothpaste is this DIY recipe. It contains coconut oil, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and pure essential oil.
