It turns out that the “Three Wise Men” may have been even wiser than we thought.
According to the Bible, frankincense was one of the gifts bestowed by the three wise men who attended the Nativity of Christ, more than 2,000 years ago.
Now, according to scientific research and the testimony of numerous individuals, frankincense essential oil is being recognized as a possible treatment for several types of cancer.
Frankincense kills cancer cells, leaves healthy cells alone
Frankincense essential oil is derived from the Boswellia tree family, varieties of which grow in Asia and the Middle East.
Boswellic acid – the active ingredient in frankincense – has powerful anti-inflammatory properties. These properties have been shown to be effective in killing cancer cells, while not affecting healthy cells.

“Chinese and Ayurvedic medical models use frankincense as a major ingredient in treating many health conditions, including cancer. Western studies are now backing up this traditional use, showing that frankincense essential oil and extracts have potent anti-tumor activity.
“When frankincense was tested against human pancreatic cancer cells, the essential oil was able to cause substantial levels of cancer cell death by inhibiting signalling molecules and cell cycle regulators. The same effect was found in another study on bladder cancer cells.
“This study also tested the effect of the frankincense on normal bladder cells, and found that the essential oil was able to distinguish cancerous from normal cells.
“There were, again, multiple cell mechanism pathways activated by frankincense against the cancer cells. Overall the studies have indicated that no serious side effects have been recorded with continuous therapeutic use of frankincense essential oil.”
Other studies have shown that frankincense oil kills many types of cancer cells, including those from breast, stomach, brain, bladder, ovary, pancreatic, lung, colon and prostate cancers.
It has been discovered that frankincense essential oil may also be beneficial in relieving some of the side effects of traditional cancer treatments.
Patients undergoing radiation therapy sometimes suffer afterwards from cerebral edema (swelling of the brain caused by accumulated fluid).
The treatment for cerebral edema is usually based on steroid medications, which have their own set of side effects.
“A 2011 study found that frankincense essential oil can offer a much safer alternative to this medication. In the study, 60 percent of patients had an improvement rate of at least 75 percent in their level of brain swelling.”
Other benefits of frankincense essential oil
In addition to its cancer-fighting potential, frankincense essential oil also offers a number of other health-boosting applications, due to its anti-inflammatory, diuretic, antiseptic and digestive properties.
Frankincense essential oil provides a mild sedative effect, which can be useful in treating anxiety and insomnia.
Its anti-inflammatory properties are effective in relieving joint and muscle pain, such as that caused by arthritis, and for treating chronic inflammatory conditions, such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
No profits for Big Pharma
One might wonder why the medical establishment has not adopted the use of frankincense essential oil, especially considering the numerous studies proving its potential for fighting cancer and many other diseases.
“Although the strength and efficacy of natural therapies such as essential oils has been well investigated by researchers, don’t expect to see them being used in mainstream cancer treatment anytime soon.
“This is because natural compounds cannot be patented — therefore there is no huge potential for profit as there is with pharmaceuticals,” The Alternative Daily reports.
Big Pharma’s cancer industry can’t make huge profits from alternative natural therapies that actually work.
Don’t expect them to ever acknowledge the effectiveness of frankincense essential oil or any of the other natural substances that can effectively treat and prevent cancer.
Until the medical establishment frees itself of the influence of Big Pharma, needless deaths and suffering will continue to occur – while the real keys to good health and a cancer-free existence remain purposely obscured.
