New research shows that despite all the social networks available to us, we have never been lonelier. It’s because social networking promotes shallow relationships with people we don’t really know, though we consider them “friends”.
Instead of the face to face socialization – where things that make us human take place all the time (mistakes, spontaneity, laughter over silly things, meeting someone for the first time, etc.) – we are “trapped” in a virtual world, where everyone creates fake versions of self.
