The European Parliamentary Research Service has published multiple documents highlighting significant concerns about the health impacts of 5G technology — concerns that have been largely dismissed by industry proponents and regulatory bodies.
According to the EPRS, “little research has been performed on the health impacts of 5G, as most of the studies to date relate to previous generations of mobile technology.” The service noted that 5G’s “urban concentration and dense cellular structure, its use of much higher microwave frequencies and its highly directional concentration” could pose unique risks.
“The recent academic literature illustrates that continuous wireless radiation seems to have biological effects especially considering the particular characteristics of 5G: the combination of MMW, a higher frequency, the quantity of transmitters and the quantity of connections.”
The Federal Office for Radiation Protection of Germany stated that “the effects of these have not yet been well researched” and advised “a prudent expansion of 5G.”
Yet despite these warnings from European government research bodies, 5G rollout has proceeded at breakneck speed with minimal safety testing. A 2016 U.S. government-funded study found significantly greater rates of rare brain and heart tumors in rats exposed to wireless radiation — results that were largely buried.
